Foundations of Visual and UI Design
A foundations course in visual and UI design: how Gestalt principles, visual hierarchy, contrast, and alignment shape what people perceive, how grids, spacing scales, and composition patterns turn that perception into repeatable systems, and how to develop the craft and judgment to evaluate any interface for visual clarity.
By the end of this course you can name and apply the perceptual principles behind any layout, build a consistent grid and spacing system for a small product, judge whether a screen is visually clear versus visually complex, and give a structured, principle-based critique of any interface.
