Prompt and Context Design for AI Products

Learn the product/system layer behind AI prompting — specifying system and product instructions, assembling and bounding context, designing structured output contracts, and evaluating, versioning, and documenting prompt and context behavior as a real product artifact engineering can maintain.

By the end of this Course, you can specify an AI product's instructions and context as a testable, documented artifact, define a structured output contract, evaluate it against real test and failure scenarios, and hand it off to engineering with a clear version history and review threshold.

01Distinguish system, product, and user instructions, resolve conflicts between them, and turn product constraints into testable instruction language
02Specify tone and boundaries without vague adjectives, and structure reusable instruction templates
03Define context from a product-design perspective — sources, inclusion/exclusion rules, missing or stale context, and conflicting sources
04Give users visibility and control over their own context, and design structured output contracts that improve downstream UX
05Build systematic test scenarios, classify product-level failures, and understand misuse and prompt injection from a product perspective
06Decide when human review is required, version and document prompt/context changes responsibly
07Assemble a complete product/engineering handoff package for an AI feature specification

What You'll Gain
  • Builds one practiced instruction-and-context specification skill set across 30 bilingual Lessons
  • Keeps every specification tied to a tested product behavior, never a clever-sounding prompt alone
  • Separates what has been verified from what merely worked once in a demo, at every step
  • Uses scenario-based assessments to rehearse the real judgment calls of a working Product Designer's specification practice
Who Is This Course For?
  • UX/Product Designers who specify how an AI product behaves at the instruction and context level
  • Designers handing off AI feature specifications to engineering and needing a shared, testable artifact
  • Product teams who need a systematic way to evaluate prompt/context behavior instead of ad hoc testing
  • Designers responsible for defining boundaries, refusal behavior, and human-review thresholds for an AI feature
Course Features
  • 3 progressive Levels and 30 substantive bilingual Lessons
  • 30 Lesson Quizzes with 10 scenario-based questions each
  • 3 Level Exams with 15 transfer questions each
  • One structurally validated Practice Task designing a full reusable prompt and context specification for a realistic AI product feature
