Qualitative Analysis and Thematic Synthesis

Turn raw interview transcripts and field notes into defensible, evidence-traced insights: prepare and code qualitative data, build and maintain a codebook, synthesize codes into themes through affinity mapping and cross-participant comparison, and communicate findings without overstating what the evidence shows.

By the end of this Course, you can run a professional qualitative analysis end to end: prepare and code raw data, build a defensible codebook, synthesize codes into evidence-traced themes, guard against confirmation bias, and communicate findings and their limitations honestly to stakeholders.

01Prepare transcripts and field notes for analysis and extract clean, codable evidence units
02Build and apply a codebook using both inductive and deductive coding, and write researcher memos
03Group codes into categories and develop them into themes through affinity mapping and team synthesis
04Handle contradictions, negative cases, and saturation without forcing premature agreement
05Separate evidence from assumption, control confirmation bias, and trace every insight back to its source
06Prioritize insights, distinguish findings from recommendations, and prepare a reviewable analysis handoff
