Design Fidelity: Implementing and Verifying Design Systems in Code

Learn to consume a design system faithfully in code and prove the result matches the design — token references instead of copied values, component contracts, every defined state, responsive and RTL behaviour, semantic structure, and fidelity evidence a reviewer can check.

By the end of this Course, you can implement an interface against a design system without drifting from it, cover every defined state, breakpoint, and text direction, match the design's semantic intent, and produce a fidelity report whose claims are backed by evidence someone else could repeat.

01Consume an existing design system in code rather than rebuilding its components locally, and recognise what a local copy really costs
02Reference design tokens through the system pipeline instead of copying resolved values, so theming and rebrands keep working
03Handle the case where the token or component you need does not exist yet, without silently inventing a value
04Implement a component to its full system contract — API, behaviour, and constraints — rather than to the one screen you saw it in
05Compose from existing primitives instead of adding another variant, and recognise variant explosion before it hardens
06Implement every state the system defines, at the stated breakpoints, and in both text directions, using logical properties rather than a naive flip
07Match the design's meaning and not only its pixels, so a visual tab bar is implemented as a tab pattern rather than styled buttons
08Produce fidelity evidence — comparisons, measurements, and visual regression baselines — and state plainly what that evidence does and does not prove

What You'll Gain
  • Builds one practiced design-fidelity judgment across 30 bilingual Lessons
  • Keeps every implementation decision traceable to a token, a component contract, or a recorded and approved deviation
  • Separates what fidelity evidence actually proves from what a screenshot comparison would prefer to imply
  • Uses scenario-based assessments to rehearse the judgment calls a Design Engineer makes while consuming a system someone else owns
Who Is This Course For?
  • Designers who implement in code and are handed a design system they did not design themselves
  • Design Engineers whose implementations keep drifting from the system one small local decision at a time
  • Designers who review AI-generated interface code and need a standard for what "matches the design" actually means
  • Anyone preparing the design-fidelity evidence the Fidelity and Accessibility Engineering Mission expects
Course Features
  • 3 progressive Levels and 30 substantive bilingual Lessons with worked code examples
  • 30 Lesson Quizzes with 10 scenario-based questions each
  • 3 Level Exams with 15 transfer questions each
  • Direct preparation for the Mission 6 Design Fidelity Report practice task
