From Design Intent to Executable Specification

Learn to receive design and product intent as an implementation contract and turn it into an executable specification — decomposed into verifiable units, with implementation acceptance criteria, an explicit definition of done, stated scope constraints, and a specification review completed before delegation.

By the end of this Course, you can read design and product intent as a contract, decompose it into independently verifiable units, write implementation acceptance criteria and a definition of done, constrain scope explicitly, specify work an agent or an engineer can execute, and review a specification before delegating it.

01Read a design file and a product brief as an implementation contract rather than a set of artifacts to pass downstream
02Separate binding intent from incidental presentation, and find the decisions a design leaves unstated
03Derive the cases a static design never drew, and decide each one in scope or explicitly out
04Check what an interface assumes about data against the real source before the layout is committed to it
05Decompose work into units small enough to verify independently, with implementation acceptance criteria a stranger could check
06Write an explicit definition of done and stated scope constraints, including what is deliberately excluded
07Produce specifications a human engineer or a coding agent can implement from without re-deriving intent
08Run a specification review before delegation, and know what that review has to be willing to reject

What You'll Gain
  • Builds one practiced specification judgment across 30 bilingual Lessons
  • Keeps every obligation traceable to a design source, a product decision, a data reality, or an existing constraint in the code
  • Separates what a specification actually guarantees from what a confident handoff would prefer to imply
  • Uses scenario-based assessments to rehearse the judgment calls a Design Engineer makes before any code is written
Who Is This Course For?
  • UX and product designers with implementation literacy who now have to hand work to an engineer or a coding agent
  • Designers whose handoffs keep coming back as questions, rework, or features nobody asked for
  • Product designers who want their intent to survive being implemented by someone who was never in the design review
  • Anyone preparing the executable-specification work the Design Engineer Career Path relies on
Course Features
  • 3 progressive Levels and 30 substantive bilingual Lessons
  • 30 Lesson Quizzes with 10 scenario-based questions each
  • 3 Level Exams with 15 transfer questions each
  • Direct preparation for the Specification and Collaboration Mission practice task
