Personalization, Memory, and Adaptive AI Experiences

Learn to decide what an AI product should remember, what it should adapt, and what it should never infer or store silently — and how users understand, inspect, correct, delete, and control personalization. Design memory models, cold-start experiences, adaptive interfaces, consent moments, and review/edit/delete/reset surfaces that keep a long-term AI relationship trustworthy.

By the end of this Course, you can specify a memory model with clear provenance and duration, design a deliberate cold-start and adaptive experience, and produce consent, review, correction, deletion, and no-memory surfaces that keep long-term personalization trustworthy and correctable.

01Distinguish context from memory, session from persistent memory, and user-provided from inferred memory
02Design memory scope, duration, and provenance, and specify a memory model from the user's own perspective
03Design a deliberate cold-start experience and progressive personalization instead of an empty or overreaching one
04Decide what should adapt and what should remain stable, explain adaptation in plain language, and avoid over-personalization
05Recognize and design for stale personalization, wrong personalization, and shared-device/multi-user problems
06Design consent for persistent memory, sensitive-memory handling, and a real memory review/edit surface
07Design delete/forget behavior that matches real product behavior, reset personalization, and a genuine no-memory mode
08Design a trustworthy long-term relationship between a user and a product that remembers them
